This document serves as the user manual for the LANCERTECH LT-510 Motorcycle Dash Cam, a dedicated device designed for recording while riding. It provides comprehensive instructions for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring users can effectively utilize its features.
Function Description
The LT-510 is a motorcycle-specific dash cam system that records video from both front and rear cameras. Its primary function is to capture continuous footage of your ride, offering a visual record in case of incidents or for general documentation. The system supports various recording modes, including normal recording, emergency recording, and still image capture.
The main unit acts as the central control and display hub, featuring a screen for live view and playback. It is equipped with a Micro USB port for charging and a Micro SD card slot for storage. The device includes a remote controller for convenient operation while riding, allowing for actions like switching modes, taking screenshots, or initiating emergency recordings without directly interacting with the main unit.
Key functions accessible via the buttons on the main unit and remote controller include:
- Power ON/OFF and Screen Saver: The power button allows you to turn the device on or off by pressing and holding for about 3 seconds. A short press toggles the screen saver, turning the display on or off while the device remains powered.
- Mode Switching: The Mode button enables switching between recording mode and playback mode when recording is stopped. Pressing it again returns to the recording mode.
- Menu Navigation: The Menu button provides access to the system settings screen. When recording is stopped, a short press enters the settings mode, and another short press returns to recording.
- Confirmation (OK): In recording mode, a short press starts or stops recording. In the setting menu, it confirms installations. During playback, it plays or stops the movie.
- UP/DOWN Move Buttons: These buttons are used for navigation within the setting menu, moving the cursor up or down. In recording mode, the UP button switches between rear and front camera display modes. Pressing and holding the UP button for about 3 seconds toggles the microphone on or off. During video playback, the UP button rewinds, and the DOWN button fast forwards.
- Screen Shot / SOS Recording: A short press of this button takes an image from both front and rear cameras while recording. Pressing and holding it for about 3 seconds during recording activates emergency recording, which typically locks the current file to prevent overwriting. The DOWN move button also has a function to take a screenshot and to lock files during recording.
The device also features a G-Sensor for automatic emergency recording detection, ensuring that critical footage is saved in the event of an impact. An internal microphone allows for audio recording, which can be toggled on or off.
Usage Features
The LT-510 is designed for ease of use and integration into a motorcycle environment.
- Camera Flexibility: The front and rear cameras are interchangeable, allowing for flexible installation based on user preference or motorcycle configuration.
- Power Connection: The device connects to the motorcycle's accessory power supply (ACC) which provides 12V when the ignition key is ON. It also requires a secure ground connection to the metal body of the motorcycle to prevent electrical issues. It is crucial to ensure correct power supply connection for proper operation and to avoid issues like inability to turn off during recording.
- Micro SD Card Management: The dash cam supports Micro SD cards with capacities from 8GB to 128GB, with a recommendation for Class 10 UHS-I or higher speed cards. Users are advised to format the card to FAT32 on a PC before initial use and to format it regularly (e.g., once a month) to maintain optimal performance. It's important not to insert or remove the card while the power is on to prevent data corruption or device damage. In case of an accident, ensure the power remains on to allow the data to be written before removing the card.
- LED Indicators: The device includes LED indicators to show its status. A blue light indicates recording status (off for recording, on for stop recording), while a red light indicates charging status (on for charging, off for full charge).
- Camera Angle Adjustment: The camera lenses can be adjusted to achieve the optimal shooting angle. This involves loosening the lens protection cap, rotating the lens while observing the display, and then securing the cap. The camera supporter, made of iron, can be slightly bent for fine-tuning the angle.
- System Settings: The menu provides various customizable settings, including recording resolution, static image resolution, loop recording duration, microphone and speaker volume, language, frequency, rear camera mirror function, screen saver duration, power off delay, G-Sensor sensitivity, warning sound, and automatic recording. Users can also set the date and time, view memory card capacity, format the card, and restore factory settings.
Maintenance Features
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable performance of the LT-510 dash cam.
- Micro SD Card Care: Regular formatting of the Micro SD card (recommended once a month) helps prevent data corruption and ensures smooth recording. Always back up important data before formatting. Use only specified Micro SD cards to avoid data damage or recording failures.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section to help users resolve common issues such as power problems, Micro SD card errors, recording errors, camera display issues, missing audio, and video playback problems. This guide provides steps like checking power connections, resetting the device, verifying camera connections, ensuring sufficient memory card space, and checking system settings.
- Firmware Updates: The "Version" setting in the menu displays the firmware version, indicating that firmware updates may be available to improve device performance or add new features.
- Factory Reset: The option to "Restore Factory Setting" allows users to reset all settings to their default values, which can be useful for resolving configuration-related issues or preparing the device for a new user.
- Support Center: For issues that cannot be resolved using the troubleshooting guide, users are encouraged to contact the support center via the provided email address.
- Warranty: The product comes with a warranty period of 12 months for the main unit and 6 months for accessories from the date of purchase. It is important to ensure the warranty card is properly filled out.
By following these guidelines, users can ensure their LANCERTECH LT-510 Motorcycle Dash Cam operates effectively and reliably, providing a valuable recording solution for their motorcycle journeys.
