Malfunction Cause Remedy
Gas ame ickers Gas cylinder is not opened quite far
enough
Open the gas cylinder further
Gas cylinder is almost empty Connect a new gas cylinder
The gas ame is either yellow or or-
ange instead of blue
Too little oxygen present Check the burner for signs of blockage
Gas ame ares up brightly Fatty foods Remove any large areas of fat prior to
barbecuing or place the meat on a grill
plate or reduce the barbecue tempera-
ture
The surrounding environment is too
windy
Switch o the barbecue and move it to a
location that is sheltered from the wind
