16. Firmware updates
Among its innovating features Plus 2 allows firmware updates to be accomplished at customer’s site using a
simple and quick (less than 2 min) procedure. The firmware update file will be provided by LaserPoint via an e-
mail message attachment.
To update the instrument firmware simply follow the instruction steps given below:
- Switch the instrument ON and plug the instrument to its external power supply.
- Copy the firmware update file in a free USB drive
- Plug the USB drive in the instrument USB port.
- After 10 seconds the display will show the image of Fig 19a, touch “Yes” to proceed.
- During the FW update file downloading Fig. 19b is shown and a moving bar indicates the file
downloading progress .

- Upon FW update file downloading is completed Fig. 19c image is shown on the display.
- Read carefully the instructions shown in the window before touching “Ok” key to start the instrument
switch off.
- After few seconds the instrument switches off; remove the USB drive and then push the instrument
ON/OFF button and keep it pressed until the display turns on again (this step takes about 10 sec).
- Upon the instrument switch on its FW is been updated and Plus 2 meter is now ready for new
measurements.
