The mainframe has inner and outer casing
bands joined by six hollow struts. Each strut
ends in a pad on the outer casing band. These
pads allow passage of oil and air for the lube
and vent system and provide a mount for the
poppet valves that control the eighth-stage
seal air leakage pressure level. A two-piece
fuel manifold is mounted around the main-
frame with a fuel drain valve connecting the
sections at the six o’clock position.The en-
gine is attached to the pylon by mounting pads
on the mainframe.
