Power supply
For exposure metering, the LEICA MP needs two
1.55 Volt silver oxide button cells or a 3 Volt DL

N-type lithium battery.
Lithium batteries are particularly suitable if the ca-
mera will often not be used for long periods or to
carry as a spare, as they can be stored for years
with almost no loss of capacity.
At room temperature and with 14s metering time
per exposure, a new (set of) battery/ies will
last for approximately 100 36-exposure films, i.e.
around 3600 exposures (according to Leica
testing standards).
