5. Heating and cooling limits help
prevent user−settings to extreme
temperatures. The homeowner
can limit the maximum setting for
the heating and cooling modes,
thus helping to conserve energy
and costs. Press the UP or
DOWN button to select the high-
est or lowest temperature for
heating or cooling, then press SE-
LECT. Programmed setpoints will
be changed if they are higher
(heating) or lower (cooling) than
the minimum allowed setpoint. A
warning screen appears before
programmed setpoints change.
COOLING LIMITThe default is
45°F. The minimum cooling set-
point can be programmed from
45° to 90°F in 1.0°F increments.
HEATING LIMITThe default is
90°F. The maximum heating set-
point can be programmed from
45° to 90°F in 1.0°F increments.
6. Security settings are available to
prevent tampering with the pro-
gram and the user’s desired set-
tings. Two levels of security are
available; the default security set-
ting is OFF.
ALLOW TEMPERATUREthis
level permits temporary changes
to temperature only while disal-
lowing change to other program-
ming.
RESTRICT ALLthis disallows any changes to System, Fan, Pro-
gram, or setpoint. If security is activated, a screen pops up into which
a 4−digit user security code is to be entered before any change is per-
mitted.
Entering Security CodeSecu-
rity is enabled after you enter a
user−selectable 4−digit, numeric
security code at the SECURITY
SETTINGS screen.
Security remains enabled until the same security code is entered
some time later, when changes to other settings are attempted. After
the security code is entered, complete access to all features and
functions is provided. To enable security again, re−enter a security
code via the SECURITY SETTINGS screen.
A From the home screen press MENU.
B Use the UP or DOWN button to highlight USER SETTINGS.
Press SELECT.
C Use the UP or DOWN button to highlight SECURITY. Press SE-
LECT.
D Use the UP or DOWN button to highlight select ALLOW TEM-
PERATURE or RESTRICT ALL. Press SELECT.
NOTE − Choosing ALLOW TEMPERATURE places the security
code on all programming except the temperature. Other users can
still change the temperature up or down. Such changes remain effec-
tive until the time of the next programmed event. RESTRICT ALL pre-
vents any change without first entering the security code.
E Use the UP/DOWN buttons to select the first digit for the code,
then press SELECT.
F After you choose the first value, the second digit is highlighted.
Repeat for all four digits.
G When the correct code is in, press a final SELECT. Future pro-
gramming changes will now require the code to be entered be-
fore changes can be made.
