Problem:TheWakeOnLANfeatureisnotworking.
Solution:EnsurethatWakeOnLANisenabledinThinkPadSetup.Ifitis,checkwithyourLAN
administratorforthenecessarysettings.
Problem:MycomputerisaGigabitEthernetmodel,itcannotconnecttothenetworkat1000Mbps.
Instead,itconnectsat100Mbps.
Solution:
Tryanothercable.
Makesurethatthelinkpartnerissettoauto-negotiate.
Makesurethattheswitchis802.3ab-compliant(gigabitovercopper).
AwirelessLANproblem
Problem:Icannotconnecttothenetworkusingthebuilt-inwirelessnetworkcard.
Solution:Makesurethat:
YourwirelessLANdriveristhelatestversion.
Yourcomputeriswithinrangeofawirelessaccesspoint.
Thewirelessradioisenabled.
Note:IfyouareusingtheWindows7operatingsystem,clickShowhiddeniconsontheWindows
notificationarea.TheAccessConnectionsiconisdisplayed.Formoreinformationabouttheicon,referto
theAccessConnectionshelpinformationsystem.
FortheWindows7operatingsystem,checktheNetworkName(SSID)andyourencryptioninformation.Use
theAccessConnectionsprogramtoverifythiscase-sensitiveinformation.
Bluetoothproblems
Note:CheckyourconnectionanytimeandmakesurethatnootherBluetooth-enableddeviceissearchingfor
thedevicetowhichyouwanttoconnect.SimultaneoussearchingisnotallowedintheBluetoothconnection.
Problem:SounddoesnotcomefromtheBluetoothheadset/headphonebutcomesfromthelocal
speakereventhoughtheBluetoothheadset/headphoneisconnectedusingaHeadsetprofileorAVprofile.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
1.Exittheapplicationthatusesthesounddevice(forexample,WindowsMediaPlayer).
2.GotoControlPanelandclickHardwareandSoundSoundPlayback.
