Thissectiondescribeshowtoresetyourharddiskdrivestonon-RAID.
Toresetyourharddiskdrivestonon-RAID,dothefollowing:
1.PressCtrl+IwhenpromptedtoentertheIntelMatrixStorageManageroptionROMcongurationutility
duringsystemstartup.
2.UsetheupanddownarrowkeystoselectResetDiskstoNon-RAIDandpressEnter.
3.Usethearrowkeysandthespacekeytomarkindividualphysicalharddiskdrivestobereset,andthen
pressEntertocompletetheselection.
4.Whenprompted,pressYtoconrmtheresetaction.
5.Afterresettingtheharddiskdrivestonon-RAID,youcan:
•See“DeletingRAIDvolumes”onpage100forRAIDvolumedeletion.
•See“CreatingRAIDvolumes”onpage100forRAIDvolumecreation.
•UsetheupanddownarrowkeystoselectExitandpressEnter.
Updatingthermware
ThermwareintheserverisperiodicallyupdatedandisavailablefordownloadontheLenovoSupportWeb
site.Gotohttp://www.lenovo.com/supporttocheckforthelatestlevelofrmware,suchastheBIOS
ROMleandRAIDFWles.
Whenyoureplaceadeviceintheserver,youmighthavetoeitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestversionof
thermwarethatisstoredinmemoryonthedeviceorrestorethepre-existingrmwarefromadisketteor
CDimage.
•TheBIOSROMleisstoredinashonthesystemboard.
•TheonboardSATAsoftwareRAIDrmwareisintegratedintotheBIOSROMonthesystemboard.

UsingtheEasyUpdateFirmwareUpdaterprogram
ThinkServerEasyUpdateFirmwareUpdaterisasoftwareapplicationthatenablesyoutomaintainyour
systemrmwareup-to-dateandhelpsyouavoidunnecessaryoutages.FirmwareUpdaterupdatesthe
serversystemandadapterrmware.
Toupdateyoursystem,dothefollowing:

2.ClickDownload&Drivers➙ThinkServerandthenfollowtheinstructionsontheWebpageto
downloadtheISOimagefortheEasyUpdateFirmwareUpdaterprogram.
3.BurntheISOimagetoadisc.
4.Settheopticaldriveastherstbootdeviceandinsertthediscintotheopticaldrive.Theserverwill
proceeddirectlytotheUserInterfaceApplication’sintroductoryscreen.
5.Readthemessagesandinstructionsdisplayedontheintroductoryscreen.Then,clickNexttoproceed
tothelistofrmwareupdatesavailableontheopticalmedia.
