Secure the sensor at the desired position in the system, using an adapter plate if necessary.
Do not tighten screws until alignment is complete and sensor is functioning correctly.
Align the sensor so the light spot hits the reflector.
Align the light beam toward the receiver; mount transmitter and receiver on one axis.
Align the light beam to hit the specific part of the object for detection.
Ensure yellow LED goes out when object enters light axis; adjust if not.
Turn the potentiometer until the yellow status LED goes out.
Ensure yellow LED goes out when object enters light axis; adjust if not.
Turn the potentiometer until the yellow status LED goes out.
Place the object at the desired distance to the sensor for adjustment.
Turn potentiometer counter-clockwise until LED is off, then slightly clockwise until LED is on.
Check reproducibility by moving the object; sensor should switch at desired position.
