To prepare the vehicle for recovery
1 Remove the appropriate towing point cover and install the recovery eye. Turn the recovery
eye clockwise into the thread until it stops. You can use the wheel brace as a lever through
the recovery eye to make sure that it is tight. See Tools
2 If necessary install the wheel chocks to prevent the vehicle moving.
3 Select ignition mode II (ON) and release the electronic parking brake. See Using the
electronic parking brake. If the 12 volt battery has been discharged, connect a 12 volt slave
battery to the vehicle. See Energising the vehicle with a 12 volt slave battery
4 The vehicle can now be pulled on and off a recovery vehicle with a flatbed platform using
the recovery eye.
Unlocking with the detachable key blade
The left side front door and the rear load space doors can can be unlocked with the detachable
key blade.
Accessing vehicle with discharged 12V battery
The remote key will not unlock the vehicle if the vehicle 12V battery is discharged. To access
the 12 volt battery connection terminalin the engine compartment, the left side front door can
be unlocked using the detachable key blade. The rear load space doors can also be unlocked
using the detachable key blade.
