CAUTION
Do not connect another vehicle to the 12 volt battery or the 12 volt charging points. It
is not possible to jump start another vehicle from your vehicle. This procedure can
cause a fuse to fail on your vehicle.
CAUTION
Use only a 12V donor battery.
CAUTION
Connect and disconnect the jump leads carefully to prevent short circuits with
components on the vehicle.
If the 12 volt battery is discharged, you can start the vehicle with jump leads and a 12 volt slave
battery. The 12 volt system connection terminals are installed in the engine compartment.
NOTE
The engine cannot be started if the high voltage battery is discharged.
Do these steps to jump start the vehicle:
1. Set the discharged vehicle in ignition mode O (OFF).
2. Open the bonnet on the vehicle.
3. Open the cover of the positive (+)12 volt system connection terminal of the vehicle.
4. Connect the positive (+) (red) jump lead to the positive (+)12 volt system connection
terminal of the vehicle.
5. Connect the other end of the positive (+) (red) jump lead to the positive (+)12 volt battery
connection terminal of the 12 volt slave battery.
6. Connect the negative (-) (black) jump lead to the engine support eye of the vehicle.
7. Connect the other end of negative (-) (black) jump lead to the negative (-)12 volt battery
connection terminal of the 12 volt slave battery.
8. Switch the vehicle to ignition mode II (ON).
