Printer port Function
5 EXT port Connect more devices (telephone or answering machine) to the printer and the
telephone line. Use this port if you do not have a dedicated fax line for the printer and
if this connection method is supported in your country or region.
6 LINE port Connect the printer to an active telephone line through a standard wall jack (RJ‑11), DSL
filter, or VoIP adapter, or any other adapter that allows you to access the telephone line
to send and receive faxes.

7 Address Book Access, create, and organize contacts.
8 Status/Supplies
• Show a printer warning or error message whenever the printer requires
intervention to continue processing.
• View more information on the printer warning or message, and on how to clear
it.
Note: You can also access this setting by touching the top section of the home
screen.
