Verify that the temperature control is set lower than the current room temperature. A dirty air filter restricts airflow, so clean it every 2 weeks. Remember, it takes time for a hot room to cool down when the unit is first turned on. Check for open furnace floor registers or cold air returns that may be allowing cold air to escape. Finally, iced-up cooling coils can also reduce cooling efficiency; set the mode control at High Fan or High Cool.
