Why won't my LG Washer start or spin?
    • D
      Danielle SmithAug 19, 2025
Ensure the electrical power cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet. Check your house fuse or circuit breaker and reset or replace if necessary, avoiding increasing the fuse capacity. If a circuit overload is the issue, have a qualified electrician correct it. Also, make sure the water supply tap is on and the door is firmly shut. Press the Start/Pause button; remember that the washer may take a few moments to begin spinning, as the door must be locked first. If the washer still won't spin, add 1 or 2 similar items to help balance the load, or rearrange the load for proper spinning.

      Patricia OlsenAug 21, 2025
Check fill and drain hoses for looseness at the tap or washer and tighten them. If house drain pipes are clogged, unclog them; contact a plumber if needed. Ensure adequate water supply in your area and fully open the water supply tap. Straighten any kinks in the water inlet hose(s). Check and clean the filter of the inlet hose(s). Also, ensure the drain hose is not kinked or clogged, and clean the drain filter. Excessive foaming, possibly due to too much or unsuitable detergent, can also cause water leaks.

Stop the LG washer and check the drum and drain filter for foreign objects like coins or safety pins. If the noise continues after restarting, contact an authorized service center. If the sound persists, the washer is likely out of balance; stop and redistribute the wash load. If transit bolts weren't removed during installation, refer to the installation guide for removal instructions. An unevenly distributed wash load can also cause thumping, so stop the washer and rearrange the load.
