This document is a user manual for the Lienuis dehumidifier, model OL20-D068C. It provides comprehensive information on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description
The Lienuis dehumidifier is designed to remove excessive moisture from the air, thereby reducing relative humidity to protect buildings and their contents from the adverse effects of high humidity. It uses R134a as the refrigerant, which is environmentally friendly, has no damaging influence on the ozone layer (ODP), and a negligible greenhouse effect (GWP). The unit is intended for indoor residential applications.
Important Technical Specifications
- Model: OL20-D068C
- Refrigerant: R134a (flammable, heavier than air)
- Operating Temperature Range: 41°F to 95°F (5°C to 35°C)
- Minimum Room Size for Installation: Exceeds 4 m²
- Sound Pressure Level: Below 36 dB (A-weighted)
- Power Source: Must be of equal voltage, frequency, and rating as indicated on the product identification plate.
- Humidity Adjustment Range: 30% - 80% RH (in 5% increments)
- Timer Setting: 0 - 24 hours (in 1-hour increments)
- Continuous Dehumidify Mode: Runs at high fan speed (adjustable), humidity setting cannot be adjusted.
- Auto Mode: Fan and compressor operate based on environmental humidity relative to set humidity (starts if environmental humidity > set humidity +3%, stops if environmental humidity < set humidity -3%). Both fan speed and humidity are adjustable.
- Sleep Mode: Target humidity is 60%. After 10 seconds of no operation, most indicator lights and the display screen turn off, except for the sleep mode, power, and child lock indicators. If the water tank is full in sleep mode, the machine does not alarm but the "Water Tank Full" indicator light turns red.
Usage Features
The dehumidifier features a control panel with several buttons for operation:
- POWER: Turns the unit on/off. When turned on, the operation indicator lights up, default fan speed is high, and default humidity is 50%. When turned off, the running indicator light goes off, the compressor stops immediately, and the fan shuts down after a 30-second delay.
- MODE (M): Switches between "Auto" and "Continuously dehumidify" modes.
- TIMER: Sets, checks, or cancels the timing function (0-24 hours).
- FAN: Switches between high and low fan speeds. Fan speed is only adjustable in Auto mode.
- HUM: Adjusts the target humidity (30%-80% in 5% increments) and timing value (0-24 hours in 1-hour increments).
- CHILD-LOCK: Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate. When active, the indicator light is on, and other buttons are inoperable.
Drainage:
The unit offers two methods for water removal:
- Manual Draining: Emptying the water tank manually. When the tank is full, the machine buzzes 5 times, and the "Water Tank Full" indicator light illuminates. The unit will stop operating until the tank is emptied and reinstalled correctly.
- Continuous Draining: Attaching a drain hose to the drain outlet for gravity-fed drainage. The drain pipe must be straightened, its height must be lower than the drainage outlet (at least 10 cm), and it must not be submerged in water to prevent "Air Lock."
Safety Precautions:
- Always keep the unit upright for 24 hours before first use to prevent internal damage.
- Ensure proper grounding with a three-prong plug. Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs.
- Operate in an ambient temperature between 41°F and 95°F.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Maintain at least 30cm of free space around the unit for proper air circulation.
- Avoid installing near heat sources, in direct sunlight, or in areas with excessive dust or poor ventilation.
- Do not operate if the unit is dropped, damaged, or malfunctioning.
- Do not insert fingers or objects into air outlets/inlets.
- Empty the water tank before moving the device.
- Ensure the water tank is correctly fitted for proper operation.
- A 3-minute time delay protects the compressor before resuming dehumidification.
Maintenance Features
- Air Filter Cleaning: The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks. Dust accumulation restricts airflow, reduces efficiency, and can damage the unit.
- Switch off the unit and remove the air filter.
- Rinse the filter under running water or use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
- Reassemble the air filter.
- Do not operate the unit without an air filter.
- Water Tank Cleaning: If the water tank is dirty, rinse it with clean water. Avoid using detergents, steel wire balls, chemical dust removers, diesel, benzene, diluents, or other solvents, as these can damage the tank and cause leaks.
- Storage: For long-term storage (more than a few weeks), clean and thoroughly dry the unit.
- Switch off and unplug the unit.
- Drain any remaining water.
- Clean and dry the filter in a shaded area.
- Collect the power cord at the water tank.
- Re-install the filter.
- Store the unit in an upright position in a ventilated, dry, non-corrosive, and safe indoor place.
- Important: The evaporator inside the machine must be dried out completely before packing to prevent component damage and mold. This can be done by unplugging the unit and placing it in a dry open area for several days, or by setting the humidity point more than 5% higher than the ambient humidity to force the fan to dry the evaporator for a couple of hours.
Disposal:
Releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere is strictly forbidden. Electrical appliances should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. Contact local government for information on available collection systems. Improper disposal can lead to hazardous substances leaking into groundwater, affecting health and well-being.
