Why is the heart rate reading erratic on my Life Fitness equipment?

Erratic or absent heart rate readings on your Life Fitness equipment can occur if the belt transmitter electrodes aren't sufficiently wet. To resolve this, ensure the belt transmitter electrodes are damp. Also, make sure the belt transmitter electrodes are lying flat against your skin. If the issue persists, try washing the belt transmitter with mild soap and water. Another possible cause is the distance between the belt transmitter and the receiver; ensure they are within three feet (one meter) of each other. Finally, a depleted chest strap battery could be the culprit. Contact Life Fitness Customer Support Services for instructions on how to have the chest strap replaced.
