FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: WHAT IS CUPPING THERAPY?
A: Cupping therapy has been practiced in Eastern medicine
for thousands of years. Traditionally, the practitioner heated a
cup and placed it on the body. When the cup cooled, it created
suction, causing blood to flow to the raised skin’s surface. This
action breaks tiny blood vessels, activating the natural healing
process. Today, electronic suction provides the same benefits
and more. With dynamic suction, or alternating between
suction and release, you can release myofascial tension to
increase mobility, relieve pain, and release stress.
Q: WHAT IS RED LIGHT THERAPY?
A: Red light therapy (RLT), also called phototherapy uses
low-wavelength red light to treat at the surface and below the
surface of the skin. Red light is absorbed by the body's cells,
particularly the mitochondria, which use red light to make
energy, which stimulates cell regeneration and repair. Red
light therapy is a highly-effective, non-invasive, chemical-free
therapy that can be used to safely and painlessly heal and
rejuvenate many parts of the body.
Q: WHAT ARE SOME BENEFITS OF CUPPING AND RED
LIGHT THERAPY?
A: The benefits of cupping therapy and red light therapy are
very similar, though cupping not only brings blood to the area
but also breaks blood vessels, eliciting an inflammatory and
then an anti-inflammatory response.
The benefits of cupping and red light therapy include:
Increased blood flow.
Improved muscular healing and recovery.
