What to do if my Lincoln Electric Fleet 500 Welding System engine cranks but won't start?
    • J
      Jennifer MullinsAug 17, 2025
If your Lincoln Electric Welding System's engine cranks but doesn't start, there could be several reasons. First, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open (vertical handle position). Check and replace the main fuel filter element or inline fuel filter if they are dirty or clogged. Make sure there is enough fuel in the tank and bleed the fuel system. Verify that the fuel shutdown solenoid is functioning correctly and not binding. Check for fuel flow through the filters. If the ON/OFF switch has been on for more than 60 seconds before starting, switch it off and back on, and consider replacing CR3 if it's defective.

What to do if my Lincoln Electric Fleet 500 engine shuts down shortly after starting?
    • M
      Melissa DickersonAug 22, 2025
If your Lincoln Electric Welding System engine shuts down soon after starting, check the oil level. If the oil level is appropriate, consult an engine service dealer. Contact an authorized local Engine Service Shop in case of a faulty oil temperature switch.

How to troubleshoot no auxiliary power on my Lincoln Electric Fleet 500?
    • J
      jmurrayAug 26, 2025
If you have no auxiliary power on your Lincoln Electric Welding System, start by checking for open circuit breakers and reset them. If they keep tripping, reduce the power draw. Also, make sure to check the connections to the auxiliary receptacles.

What to do if my Lincoln Electric Welding System battery does not stay charged?
    • W
      Wendy GreenAug 27, 2025
If the battery on your Lincoln Electric Welding System isn't staying charged and the engine alternator trouble light is on while the machine is running, replace the battery if it's faulty. Clean and tighten any loose connections at the battery or alternator. If the issue persists, consult an authorized Engine Service Shop regarding a faulty engine alternator or charger module.

Why won't my Lincoln Electric Fleet 500 engine crank?
    • A
      Annette WilliamsAug 30, 2025
If your Lincoln Electric Welding System engine won't crank, the battery might be low; in that case, charge it. Inspect, clean, and tighten the terminals if the battery cable connections are loose. If the problem persists, the engine starter motor may be faulty, and you should contact an authorized local Engine Service Shop.

How to fix a cold or unstable welding arc on a Lincoln Electric Fleet 500 Welding System?
    • E
      Eric EdwardsSep 5, 2025
If the welding arc on your Lincoln Electric Welding System is cold, unstable, or unsatisfactory, ensure the WELD MODE selector switch is in the correct position for the process you're using (e.g., PIPE, CC-STICK). Also, verify that the electrode (voltage, current, etc.) is correct for the process. Check for loose or faulty connections at the weld output terminals and welding cable connections. The welding cables may be too long or coiled, causing an excessive voltage drop. If problems persist, it could be a faulty Control Board.

What causes a Lincoln Electric Welding System engine to run rough?
    • J
      Johnny AguilarSep 8, 2025
If your Lincoln Electric Welding System engine runs rough, inspect and clean or replace the fuel or air filters as needed. If water is found in the fuel tank, empty and refill it, then purge the fuel lines.

What to do if my Lincoln Electric Fleet 500 Welding System engine does not develop full power and runs rough?
    • J
      Joshua CarrilloSep 12, 2025
If your Lincoln Electric Welding System engine isn't developing full power, runs rough, and has low weld and auxiliary output, the fuel filter or air filter might be dirty or clogged; replace them. Also, check the water separator for water contamination in the fuel; clean and replace as needed, and replace the fuel in the tank. Look for cracked or loose fuel hoses, replacing them and tightening the clamps if necessary. If all of this doesn't help, contact an authorized Engine Service Shop.

What causes no output in PIPE/GOUGE Mode on my Lincoln Electric Fleet 500 Welding System?
    • T
      Thomas PenningtonSep 12, 2025
If there is no output in PIPE/GOUGE mode on your Lincoln Electric Welding System, make sure the work clamp is tightly connected to clean base metal. Also, ensure the "Weld Mode Selector" switch is in the PIPE/GOUGE mode and select the correct low or high range.
