Adjustment
procedure
Remove stop plug () and gasket ().
Loosen adjustment housing () one half
to one full turn.
Insert screwdriver into adjustment
housing and turn adjusting screw ()
counter-clockwise to increase output or
clockwise to decrease output.
Service and
disassembly
procedure
Ejector operation
A -way valve with
1
/8 in. NPTF ports should
be connected to the inlet and outlet of the air
cylinder. The -way valve should be detented
and connected such that the ejector is
retracted when the valve is de-energized.
A  ft. (, m) length of
1
/4 in. (, mm)
high pressure hose should be connected to
the material inlet of the injector.
As air enters the inlet of the air cylinder it
drives the air piston and ejector piston down
while at the same time exhausting the bot-
tom of the air cylinder via the -way valve.
The outlet material pressure is multiplied
according to the ratio of the ejector.
As the ejector piston moves downward,
material moves through the ejector piston
and exits the material outlet and at the same
time, the ejector piston closes off the mate-
rial inlet.
As the air piston continues to push the
ejector piston downward the ejector piston
eventually comes in contact with the adjust-
ing screw.
At this point the forward stroke is
complete.
Output can be measured and adjusted to
the required output by following the adjust-
ment procedure. The output adjust is app-
roximately
. in
/turn (. cm
/turn).
Now the -way valve can be reversed to
retract the air cylinder forcing air under the
air piston and exhausting the air on top of
the air cylinder.
After completing adjustment, tighten
adjustment housing while holding
adjusting screw with screwdriver. Replace
gasket and stop plug.
NOTE
Hydraulic lock may be created when
small amounts of material are forced
out of inlet when closing.
Prevent hydraulic lock by using a  ft.
(, m) of
1
/4 in. (, mm) high pres-
sure hose that will expand.
WARNING
Do not service, repair or check ejector
with air supply connected.
Relieve pressure before checking,
servicing, or repairing any part of
ejector.
Failure to comply may result in seri-
ous injury to personnel.
NOTE
Adjustment rate is
. in
/turn
(. cm
/turn).
NOTE
As the air cylinder reaches the top of its
stroke along with the ejector piston the
material inlet port of the ejector opens
and allows material to recharge the
ejector chamber for the next metered
stroke.
