NOTE: In the image, the Linksys RE1000 is being used as an example.
Step 3:
Launch a web browser and enter the Linksys range extender’s IP Address. The default IP Address
is 192.168.1.1.
Step 4:
You will be prompted for a username and a password. Leave the User name blank and enter
“admin” in the Password field then click OK or Login.
NOTE: If you have customized your password, enter it instead.
You should now be able to access the web-based setup page of your Linksys range extender.
NOTE: If you are unable to log in to the Linksys wireless range extenders’ web-based setup page,
click here for troubleshooting steps.
For an already configured extender
QUICK TIP: If you’re using a Linksys RE6400, RE6300 and RE6700, you may simply enter
http://RE6x00-xxx for Windows® users or http://RE6x00-xxx.local for Mac® users, where xxx
stands for the last three (3) characters of the extender's MAC Address. Alternatively, you can check
the router’s DHCP Client Table and look for the range extender’s IP Address. To learn how to do
this, click here.
Select your operating system for the specific instructions:
Windows 10
Windows 8 / 8.1
