Copying Tapes/Discs
Copying from VHS to Disc
Follow these steps to copy contents on a VHS tape to a record-
able disc.
Note:
It is not permitted to copy:
1. Macrovision encoded material. If the tape or disc you are
attempting to copy is copy-protected, you will not be able to
copy it.
2. You may only use this DVD recorder to reproduce or copy
    materials for which you own the copyright; or have obtained
    permission to copy from the copyright owner; or you otherwise
    have a legal right to reproduce or copy. Unless you own the
    copyright; or have obtained permission from the copyright owner;
    or otherwise have a legal right to reproduce or copy, you may be
    violating the law, including copyright law, and may be subject to
    payment of damages and other remedies.
1. Insert the tape you wish to copy to the VCR deck.
2. Insert a recordable disc to the DVD tray.
3. Press the [VHS] button on the remote control to
    control the VCR deck. Press [PLAY] to start playing
    the tape.
4. When playback reaches the point from which you
     want to start copying, press [COPY] on the remote
    control. Or press the [COPY to DVD] button on the
    front panel.
5. Playback will be paused at the starting point.
6. Press [COPY] on the remote control again to start
    copying. Or press [COPY to DVD] on the front panel
    again to start copying. Press [STOP] to cancel the
    recording session.
7. When completed, press [STOP] to stop copying.
Note:
You can also use Easy Guider to copy tapes and discs. Reference
the “Easy Guider” section.
Copying from Disc to VHS
Follow these steps to copy contents on a disc to a VHS tape.
1. Insert the disc you wish to copy to the DVD tray.
2.  Insert a VHS tape to the VCR deck. Please ensure
     that the VHS tape has enough space for the
recording session.
3. Press [DVD] on the remote control to control the
    DVD deck. Press [PLAY] to start playing the DVD.
4. When playback reaches the point from which you
    want to start copying, press [COPY] on the remote
    control. Or press the [COPY to VHS] button on the
    front panel.
5. Playback will be paused at the starting point.
6. Press [COPY] on the remote control again to start
    copying. Or press [COPY to VHS] on the front panel
    again to start copying. Press [STOP] to cancel the
    recording session.
7. When completed, press [STOP] to stop copying.
Note:

*LVC-9016G: This unit can record on DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW
discs and VHS tapes.
*LVC-9017GDL: This unit can record on DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/
+RW, DVD+R DL (double layer) discs and VHS tapes.
