Tips for Optimum Drying:

  • Thoroughly spin laundry in the washing machine before drying to reduce moisture and improve energy efficiency.
  • Close zips, fasten buttons, hooks, eyelets, and loop ties/belts before drying.
  • Always check washing labels for tumble drying suitability.
  • Do not over-dry clothes to prevent shrinkage and creasing.
  • Avoid drying items containing rubber, foam, or similar elasticated fabrics.
  • Do not dry clothes that have been dry-cleaned.
  • Do not overload the dryer.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the dryer's performance and longevity.

  • Cleaning the Drum: Remove any rust from metal articles immediately with chlorine-free detergent. Do not use steel wool. Always unplug the dryer before cleaning.
  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid splashing water directly on the dryer and do not use cream cleansers, thinners, or products containing alcohol or kerosene.
  • Cleaning the Door Seal and Window: Wipe after each use to remove lint and stains, which can affect drying performance. Remove any coins, buttons, or other objects from the door seal.
  • Cleaning the Lint Filter:
    1. Open the door and pull the lint filter straight up.
    2. Open the filter and clean it with a cloth to remove lint and dust. It can also be washed with water, but must be thoroughly dried before replacement.
    3. Replace the lint filter firmly. This should be done before and after every load.
  • Cleaning the Vent Hose:
    1. Turn off and unplug the dryer.
    2. Undo and thoroughly air the vent hose. It can be rinsed with cold water but must be thoroughly dried.
    3. Replace the vent hose firmly. Periodically check the vent hose for blockages.

Safety Precautions for Maintenance:

  • Ensure the lint filter is clean and properly positioned before use. Never operate the appliance without the lint filter.
  • Be careful not to burn yourself when handling clothes or touching the inside of the drum after a high-temperature drying cycle.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons.
  • Keep the area around exhaust openings free from dust, lint, and dirt.
  • Do not use industrial chemicals for cleaning the dryer.
  • Do not pour water directly onto any part of the dryer.
  • Do not dismantle, repair, or modify the dryer yourself; contact a qualified service agent for repairs. Servicing that involves removing covers should only be carried out by authorised service personnel.
