Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for the dryer's performance and longevity.
- Cleaning the Drum: Remove any rust from metal articles immediately with chlorine-free detergent. Do not use steel wool. Always unplug the dryer before cleaning.
- Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid splashing water directly on the dryer and do not use cream cleansers, thinners, or products containing alcohol or kerosene.
- Cleaning the Door Seal and Window: Wipe after each use to remove lint and stains, which can affect drying performance. Remove any coins, buttons, or other objects from the door seal.
- Cleaning the Lint Filter:
- Open the door and pull the lint filter straight up.
- Open the filter and clean it with a cloth to remove lint and dust. It can also be washed with water, but must be thoroughly dried before replacement.
- Replace the lint filter firmly. This should be done before and after every load.
- Cleaning the Vent Hose:
- Turn off and unplug the dryer.
- Undo and thoroughly air the vent hose. It can be rinsed with cold water but must be thoroughly dried.
- Replace the vent hose firmly. Periodically check the vent hose for blockages.
Safety Precautions for Maintenance:
- Ensure the lint filter is clean and properly positioned before use. Never operate the appliance without the lint filter.
- Be careful not to burn yourself when handling clothes or touching the inside of the drum after a high-temperature drying cycle.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons.
- Keep the area around exhaust openings free from dust, lint, and dirt.
- Do not use industrial chemicals for cleaning the dryer.
- Do not pour water directly onto any part of the dryer.
- Do not dismantle, repair, or modify the dryer yourself; contact a qualified service agent for repairs. Servicing that involves removing covers should only be carried out by authorised service personnel.
