Overview

This document provides the instruction and installation manual for the LOGIK 7kg Condenser Tumble Dryer, model LCD7W18. It covers safety warnings, unpacking, installation, product overview, dry programme settings, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description

The LOGIK 7kg Condenser Tumble Dryer is designed for normal, indoor, household, and domestic use, with a maximum capacity of 7kg of dry textile material. As a condenser dryer, it collects moisture from the clothes into a water tank, eliminating the need for external venting. The dryer offers various programmes tailored to different fabric types and desired dryness levels, including Cotton Extra Dry, Cupboard Dry, Iron Dry, Synthetics Cupboard Dry, Synthetics Iron Dry, Delicate, Mix, Baby Care, Jeans, and Time Programmes (10, 30, 60 minutes). It also features a Refresh programme for ventilating garments without heat and an Express 29' programme for quick drying of cotton shirts. The final part of each drying cycle includes a cool-down phase without heat to prevent damage to items. An Anti-Crease cycle automatically activates for one hour after a programme finishes if laundry is not removed, periodically rotating the drum to prevent creasing.

The control panel features a Programme Dial to select cycles and switch the dryer off, a Start/Pause button to initiate or pause drying, and dedicated buttons for "Delicate" and "Delay Timer" options. Indicators for Water Tank, Lint Filter, Condenser, Delicate, Start/Pause, and Progress (Drying, Cooling, End) provide real-time status updates.

Usage Features

Before first use, it is recommended to wipe the drum with a damp cloth or run a brief drying cycle with damp clothes to remove any manufacturing residues. Proper preparation of laundry is crucial for optimal drying results. This includes thoroughly spinning laundry in the washing machine to reduce moisture, closing zips, fastening buttons, hooks, and eyelets, and looping ties and belts. Users should always check washing labels for tumble drying suitability and sort laundry by fabric type and colour. Overloading the dryer should be avoided to ensure satisfactory drying.

To start a drying cycle:

  1. Load laundry into the drum, ensuring it is loose and not caught in the door.
  2. Close the door firmly until it clicks.
  3. Turn the Programme Dial to the desired programme. The Start/Pause indicator will flash, and the dryer will beep.
  4. Optionally, set a Delay Timer (3, 6, or 9 hours) or select the Delicate option for sensitive items.
  5. Press the Start/Pause button to begin the programme. The Start/Pause and Drying indicators will light up.

The dryer will beep and the End, Water Tank, and Lint Filter indicators will light up when the programme is complete. If laundry is not removed, the Anti-Crease cycle will activate for one hour. To switch off the dryer, turn the Programme Dial to OFF. The dryer will beep periodically if not switched off after a cycle.

The "Delicate" option reduces the drying temperature and extends the cycle time, and can be added to some programmes. The "Delay Timer" allows users to postpone the start of a drying cycle. A "Child Lock" function can be activated by pressing the Delicate and Delay Timer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds, locking all buttons and the programme dial to prevent accidental changes. The child lock automatically deactivates at the end of a programme or can be manually switched off. The beep sound can also be switched on or off by pressing and holding the Delicate button for 3 seconds.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential for the dryer's efficiency and longevity.

  • Lint Filter: The lint filter must be cleaned before and after every load. It can be pulled straight up, gently opened, cleaned with a cloth to remove lint and dust, or washed and thoroughly dried. The dryer should never be operated without the lint filter in place.
  • Water Tank: The water tank should be emptied after every drying cycle. It is pulled out using its handle, poured into a sink or drain, and then replaced, ensuring it is pushed all the way in. The dryer should not be operated without the water tank inserted.
  • Condenser: The condenser should be cleaned every 30 drying cycles or once a month. To clean, turn off and unplug the dryer, allow it to cool, open the condenser flap, release the blue clips, and gently pull the condenser out. Dust and fluff should be removed, and the condenser can be rinsed under a tap to clean between its metal fins. After drying, it should be slid back into the housing, and the clips and flap closed.
  • Exterior: The exterior of the dryer can be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid splashing water directly onto the dryer or using cream cleansers, thinners, or products containing alcohol or kerosene.
  • Door Seal and Window: These should be wiped after each use to remove lint and stains, which can affect drying performance. Any coins, buttons, or other objects should be removed from the door seal.
  • Humidity Sensor: The two metal strips inside the drum, behind the lint filter, should be cleaned at least four times a year. After allowing the dryer to cool and opening the door (removing the lint filter for easier access), wipe the sensor with a damp cloth to remove any lint or fluff. Do not use cleaning products on the sensor.

Troubleshooting tips are provided for common issues such as long drying times, damp laundry, or the dryer not starting, often pointing to clogged filters, overloaded drums, incorrect programme selection, or an active child lock.
