Do you have a question about the Logosol LS-231SE and is the answer not in the manual?
The Logosol Multifunctional Servo Drive LS-231SE is a highly integrated servo control module designed for brushless motors. It incorporates a motion controller, a servo amplifier with integrated sinusoidal output, a serial communication interface, an amplifier interface, a step and direction interface, a safety bus, and a protection circuit. The LS-231SE can be configured to operate in eight different modes, offering versatility for various applications.
The device supports various controller modes including Distributed Servo, Analog ±10V, Quadrature Encoder, and Step & Direction (Step Positive/Step Negative). It features a dual encoder loop and a servo loop rate of 51.2 µs. Sinusoidal motor phases are commutated, and the device is compatible with Panasonic A and S series motors, brushless AC motors with 120° commutation, linear motors, and voice coil and brush motors. It can handle up to 20A peak / 12A continuous output current and operates on a 18V to 200V DC power supply. The device provides path point buffer for coordinated motion control, 32-bit position, velocity, and acceleration, and 16-bit PID filter gain values. It includes torque loop, safety bus, and feedback loss protection. Comprehensive motor output short-circuit protection is provided, including output to output, output to ground, and output to input. Adjustable motor current and overload time limits are available, along with over/under voltage shutdown, overheating protection, forward and reverse over travel inputs, and communication at 19.2Kb/s to 1.25Mb/s. The PWM frequency is 20 KHz, and the encoder rate is 10.0MHz.
The LS-231SE is designed for easy integration and configuration. It supports various encoder types and motor commutation methods. The serial communication protocol is master-slave, allowing a host computer to control multiple drives over a single RS-485 port. Drives can be dynamically addressed, simplifying network setup. The device includes diagnostic LEDs and status bits for troubleshooting. Software installation and initial connection to a host computer are guided by a utility, enabling motor initialization, servo control, and motion commands. The utility also allows for motor tuning by adjusting current loop parameters and setting up dual servo loop mode. Different operating modes, such as Analog Input, Step & Direction, and Quadrature Encoder, can be selected via the utility, with parameters like filter, invert direction, scale, offset, deadband, and acceleration being configurable.
The device includes several protection features to ensure reliable operation and minimize maintenance. These include short-circuit protection for motor outputs, over-temperature shutdown, and overvoltage protection. Diagnostic LEDs and status bits provide real-time feedback on the drive's condition, aiding in quick identification and resolution of issues. The software utility offers a "Reset Network" function and allows saving servo parameters to EEPROM, facilitating easy restoration of configurations. The serial command interface allows for clearing sticky bits, saving current position as home, and adding path points, which can be useful for system calibration and error management. The device's modular design and comprehensive documentation support efficient troubleshooting and repair.
