INFRATHERM pyrometers IS 5 · IS 5-LO · IGA 5 · IGA 5-LO

14 Data format UPP
(Universal Pyrometer Protocol)
Note:
The online Ù offline switch (DIP-switch nr. 4) must be in the online position before
adjusting the parameters “emissivity factor”, “setting measuring time” and “setting
analog output“ via the software!
Via interface and a suitable communication software or via “Test” function of the InfraWin software (see 10.7
Basic settings Æ Test) commands can be exchanged directly with the pyrometer.
The data exchange occurs in ASCII format with the following transmission parameters:
The data format is: 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, even parity (8,1,e)
The device responds to the entry of a command with: output (e.g. the measuring value) + CR (Carriage
Return, ASCII 13), to pure entry commands with "ok" + CR.
Every command starts with the 2-digit device address AA (e.g. "00").
This is followed by 2 small command
letters (e.g. "em" for level of emissivity
ε), finished with CR
This is followed, if necessary for that command, by the ASCII parameter "X". If this parameter "X" is omitted,
then the device resets with the current parameter.
A „?“ after the small command letters answers with the respective settings (only at setting commands, not at
enquiry commands).
Example: Entry: “00em“ + <CR>
The emissivity setting (
ε) of the device with the address 00 is returned
Answer: “0970“ + <CR> means Emissivity = 0.97 or 97.0%
Description Command Parameters
Reading measuring value:
AAms Output: DDDDD, (in °C or °F with one decimal place)
5-digit decimal (88880 = Overflow; 80000 = Laser on)
Reading measuring value
repeated:
AAmsXXX XXX = 000 - 999 (auto repeat of the ms command)
Reading basic temperature
range:
AAmb Output: XXXXYYYY
2 x 4 hexdigit for MBA and MBE (°C or °F)
Reading sub-range: AAme Output: XXXXYYYY
2 x 4 hexdigit for MBA and MBE (°C or °F)
Setting sub-range: 1.
2.
AAm1XXXXYYYY
AAm2
XXXXYYYY = 2 x 4 hexdigit for MBA and MBE (°C or °F)
AAm2 activates the changes (auto reset)
Analog output: AAasX X = 0 or 1 0 = 0 …20 mA; 1 = 4 ... 20 mA
Exposure time: AAezX X = 0 to 6 0 = intrinsic time constant of the device ( 2 ms)
1 = 0.01s 2 = 0.05s 3 = 0.25s
4 = 1.00s 5 = 3.00s 6 = 9.99s
Emissivity:
AAemXX
AAemXXXX
XX = 20 to 99 (ε = 0.20 to 0.99) XX = 00 ε = 1.00
XXXX = 0200 … 1000 (internally rounded to 2 decimal places)
Clear times
of maximum value storage:
AAlzX X = 0 ... 8 0 = Off
1 = 0.01 s 2 = 0.05 s 3 = 0.25 s 4 = 1.00 s
5 = 5.00 s 6 = 25.0 s 8 = AUTO
7 = EXTERN (not usable with integrated PID-controller)
External clearing of max.
value storage:
AAlx Simulation of an external reset contact, just when clear time to
EXTERN. Not usable with integrated PID-controller Æ operates like OFF.
Address: AAgaXX XX = 00 to 97 (auto reset)
Baud rate: AAbrX X = 0 ... 5 0 = 1200 Bd to 5 = 38.4 kBd (auto reset)
Wait time: AAtwXX XX = 00 ... 99 (decimal)
Temperature display °C / °F: AAfhX X = 0 (display in °C), X = 1 (display in °F)
Reading internal temp.:
Aagt Output: DD 2 digit decimal (00 ... 98 in °C)
Output: DDD 3 digit decimal (032 … 208 in °F)
Reading max. internal temp.: AAtm Output: DD always in °C (50 ... 98°C) (< 50°C no temp. recording)
Reading parameters: AApa Output: 11 decimal digits
DD......... : emissivity (comp. em)
..D........ : exposure time (comp. ez)
...D....... : reset time (comp. lz)
....D...... : current output (comp. as)
.....DD.... : device temperature (comp. gt, always in °C)
.......DD.. : device address. (comp. ga)
.........4. : baud rate (comp. br )
..........0 : always 0
Laser targeting light: AAlaX X = 0 or 1 (decimal) 0 = switch off targeting light
1 = switch on targeting light
