How to light Magic Chef Oven surface burners?
    • R
      Regina SummersJul 26, 2025
To light the surface burners on your Magic Chef Oven, push in and turn the Surface Control knob to the LITE position until the burner ignites, then adjust to your desired flame size. Also, check that the gas supply valve is open. If it still doesn't light, with the burner off, use a small-gauge wire or needle to clean any blocked ports or slots. You may also need to unscrew the igniter cap and replace the AAA battery.

What to do if Magic Chef MCFR21TTB Oven surface burner flame burns halfway around?
    • V
      Vincent NicholsonAug 5, 2025
If the surface burner flame on your Magic Chef Oven only burns halfway around, it could be due to moisture on the burner. Try drying the burner thoroughly. Additionally, with the burner off, clean the ports with a small gauge wire or needle to remove any blockages. If moisture remains after cleaning, lightly fan the flame and allow the burner to operate until the flame is full. Ensure the burners are completely dry.

Why is the Magic Chef MCFR21TTB surface burner flame orange?
    • B
      Benjamin PerryAug 13, 2025
An orange flame on your Magic Chef Oven's surface burner could be due to dust particles in the main gas line. Allow the burner to operate for a few minutes; the flame should turn blue as the dust clears. Also, if you are in a coastal area, a slightly orange flame might be unavoidable because of salt air.
