PANEL
CONNECTIONS
All
connections
to
the
rear
pail
shoud
be
made
with
the
power
to
the
entire
system
turned
off.
To
avoid
confusion,
connect
one
cable
at
a
time
between
the
different
components
of
your
system.
This
is
the
safest
way
to
avoid
cross-connecting
chan-
nels
or
confusing
signal
inputs
with
outputs.

your
amplifier.

CONTROL
TERMINALS
For
operation
of
the
system
remote
control,
the
REMOTE
CONT.
IN
jack
should
be
connected
to
the
remote
control
output
jack
of
your
amplifier
and
the
REMOTE
CONT.
OUT
jack
to
the
remote
control
input
jack.
The
connections
can
be
made
using
RCA-type
pin-plug
leads
available
in
audio
accessory
stores.

MAINS
CONNECTION
With
the
POWER
switch
set
to
the
OFF
position,
plug
the
mains
lead
into
a
mains
outlet
providing
the
proper
voltage.

TIMER
SWITCH
PLAY:
By
using
a
commercially
available
audio
timer,
this
function
permits
timer-activated
playback.
REC:
By
using
a
commercially
available
audio
timer,
this
function
allows
you
to
carry
out
unattended
recording.
OFF:
;
When
the
audio
timer
is
not
in
use,
set
to
this
position.
SYNC
REC.
(PLAY
position):
When
this
unit
is
connected
with
a
Marantz
CD
asi
equipped
with
the
Synchro
Recording
function,
synchronous
recording
with
the
start
of
CD
player
is
made
possible
by
connecting
it
to
the
REMOTE
CONT.
BUS
jacks
on
the
rear
panel
of
this
unit.

BUTTON
Press
this
button
to
reset
the
counter
reading
to
“G0
00"
or
play
time
to
“0000".
MEMO
BUTTON
When
this
button
is
pressed
in
the
STOP
mode,
PLAY
mode
or
REC
mode,
the
MEMO
indicator
lights
up
on
the
display
and
the
tape
position
at
the
moment
the
button
is
pressedis
storedin
the
memory.
Memory
Stop:
LL
When
the
tape
attains
the
position
which
has
been
stated
in
the
memory
during
a
fast-forward
or
rewind
operation,
it
stops
at
the
memory
position.
Memory
Clear:
If
the
MEMO
button
is
pressed
again
while
a
tape
position
has
been
stored
in
the
memory,
the
MEMO
indicator
goes
off
and
the
memory
is
cleared.
Memory
Change:
:
To
change
the
tape
position
stored
in
the
memory,
clear
the
previous
memory
and
set
the
memory
again
at
the
desired
position.

the
indicators

indicate
the
type
&
tape
in
the
cassette
compartment.
The
METAL
indicator
lights
up
when
there
is
no
cassette
in
the
cassette
compartment.

INDICATOR
Lights
up
permanently
so
that
the
HX-PRO
operation
is
activated
automatically
during
recording.

NR
INDICATORS
The
B
or
C
indicator
lights
up

the
setting

the
DOLBY
NR
switch.

LEVEL

Display
the
left
and
right
levels

BUTTON
When
this
button
is
pressed
during
recording,
the
tape
counter

display
changes
to
the
peak-level
display.

MONITOR
BUTTON
This.unit
uses
the
auto
monitoring
system.
If
you
wish
to
monitor
the
input
source
signal
during
recording,
press
this
button
so
that
the
SOURCE
indicator
lights
up.
To
return
to
the
monitoring
of
the
recorded
tape
sound,
press
the
button
again
so
that
the
TAPE
indicator
lights
up.
