INSTALLING THE GAS LINE
I?vIPORTAST: Install the gas line before finishing the fire
place.
If
desired, a decorative gas appliancemay be installed. Use
only iron pipe,

size, and appropriate fittings. When installing
the gas line, a valve designed for installation oiitside the fireplace
is required as shown in Figure
32.
Tlie gas line may

installed to enter the fireplace from either
side; see Figure
6
for "knock-out" locations. The unit is shipped

factory ready for installation on the right-hand side. To
iristall in

proceed as follows: First, remove the
cover
from the outside of the fireplace casin~ with a 5/16 socket
wrrnch and remove conduit sleeve. Take insulation material out
of the
gas
line cunrlilit and save for reuse, i.ocate the mark on the
side panel of the insidz wall of the firzbox. It

If a left-hand installation is desired, knock out the plug in the
