NOZZLE OFFSET UTILITY
The XYZ Nozzle Oset utility is a test print that the FX20 uses to calculate the relative positions of all three
print head nozzles. This utility will print three dierent parts and perform various touchos and sweeps on
their surfaces. Expect this utility to take roughly an hour and a half to complete.
1. Kick o the test print by navigating to Menu > Utilities > Nozzle Offset Calibration.
2. The utility will automatically begin the test print and notify the user when nished.
3. When the utility nishes, follow the instructions in Removing a Part, below, to safely remove the test
print.
REMOVING A PART
1. Select Clear Print Bed on the bottom of the touchscreen.
2. Open the build chamber door.
3. Disengage the vacuum by navigating to Menu > Manual Control and toggling the vacuum o.
4. Always use PPE, in the form of Kevlar gloves and safety glasses, to ensure that you do not burn or
injure yourself when removing parts.
5. Carefully remove the print sheet and part from the build chamber.
6. Peel the print sheet o of the part; we recommend peeling back from a corner of the part if
possible.
7. Replace the print sheet on the print bed with the glued side facing up.
PRINT A PART
1. Obtain the test part STL from the 'Markforged Air Intake' article on the Support website here:
https://support.markforged.com/portal/s/article/Markforged-Air-Intake-FX20
2. Upload the test part STL to the customer's Eiger account. Follow the instructions in the Printing
a Part (FX20) article on the Support website to slice, congure, and print the part on the FX20.
Alternatively, transfer the MFP le to a USB thumb drive, then plug the drive into the FX20 to print
the le. Use the following Eiger settings: Onyx, no reinforcement material, no supports, FX20
printer, 250µm layer height, metric units, 1.0 scale.
3. Start the print by pressing Print and following the on-screen instructions.
4. This part will take roughly an hour and a half to complete.
