You can use a jumper wire across the terminals of the switch; if the burner ignites, the switch needs replacement. If the switch is not the issue, inspect the valve wires for defects. If they seem fine, use a jumper wire at the valve's TH-THTP terminals. If the unit then turns on, replace the valve wires or check for loose connections.

In the case of a defective valve, test the thermopile with a millivolt meter at the valve's TP-TPTH terminals; it should read a minimum of 250 millivolts while holding the valve knob in the pilot position with the switch off.
