Performance Features
• HD Radio for both AM and FM Station
The sound quality of a received HD Radio
TM
FM Broad-
cast with the TM2 is of “CD-Quality”. This includes an
extended Frequency Response and greater Stereo Channel
Separation with non existing reception noise, interference
and multi path. HD Radio

AM Broadcast reception has
sound quality equivalent to a good FM-Stereo Broadcast,
again with no reception noise or interference.
• Multiple Programs
The HD Radio Broadcast format allows a radio station to
send out multiple programs simultaneously and with the
TM2 it is easy to select the desired program to listen to.
• Information Service
When tuned to a HD Radio Broadcast or an FM Broadcast
Station sending RBDS (Radio Broadcast Data Service),
the Front Panel Information Display of the MA6600 will
indicate various text information such as Station Call Sign,
Music Genre, Artist Name and Song Title when transmit-
ted by the Radio Station.
• Special FM RF Tuned Circuitry
The TM2 Tuned RF Circuitry uses a passive design, al-
lowing for the reception of strong local FM Station Signals
with overload or Cross Modulation. The highly sensitive
Front End Mixer using active circuitry allows reception of
even the weakest of FM Signals.
• High Dynamic Range IF FM Circuitry
The all important IF circuitry in the TM2 has two different
levels of linear amplification providing optimum perfor-
mance at all times with varying reception conditions.
The MA6600 Integrated Amplifier has provisions for add-
ing an optional McIntosh TM2 HD AM/FM Tuner Module
for Radio Station Reception. The TM2 delivers the same
exceptional performance as a stand-alone McIntosh Tuner.
The TM2 is installed by your McIntosh Service Dealer.
It can be added to the MA6600 at any time, usually while
you wait.
• RAA2 External AM Antenna
The RAA2 External AM Antenna provides the perfect
match to the TM2 AM Circuitry. The 20 foot (6 meter)
connection cable allows placement of the AM Antenna
away from electronic equipment which can produce RF
Interference with weak AM signals.
• Preset Stations and Permanent Memory
Nine AM and nine FM station presets make it easy to lis-
ten to your favorite stations. Station Presets and Function
Modes are retained in Permanent Memory even when AC
power is switched Off.
