The Tornado has two footswitch input pins on the 15-way
D connector. This allows the footswitch to be assigned to
replicate one of each of the five main key functions, MAX,
UNITS, TXD, ZERO and RESET. This feature is useful when
integrating the Tornado into test or production systems.
Note: A footswitch assigned to the UNITS key can allow
entry into the menu page, but the Tornado will not respond
to further footswitch operations from either footswitch 1 or
2 once in the menu.
To assign the function of a key to FOOTSWITCH 1, press
and hold the MENU key until page 1 of the main-menu
appears. Press and release the MENU key to access the
main menu page 2. Using the UP and DOWN keys, move
the arrow cursor to FOOTSWITCH 1 and press ENTER.
Using the UP and DOWN keys, select the relevant key
(MAX, UNITS, TXD, ZERO or RESET) then press the ENTER
key, or to cancel this option, select OFF and press the
ENTER key.
Press the ESC key to return to page 2 of the main-menu,
and again to return to the main display.
