If the device has been turned off for more than 40 days, the FeNO+ module
needs a warm up time of 24 to 48 hours in order to polarize the
electrochemical NO cell.
Important information on NO electrochemical sensor polarization
The FeNO+ module contains an electrochemical cell for Nitric Oxide
measurement. This cell needs to be properly polarized in order to provide
accurate readings. Insufficient polarization might lead to low performance
(inaccurate reading or even cell failure).
The FeNO+ module contains a battery to ensure that the electrochemical cell
remains polarized during a power shut off of a maximum of 40 days. The
battery is recharged when power is restored to the module. A full recharge of
the battery takes 1 hour once the power is restored to the device.
After full discharge of the battery (the module was turned off during a period
of more than 40 days), the electrochemical cell is no longer polarized and
needs a warm up time of 24 to 48 hours to be repolarized and recover its
original state.
The battery has a life time of at least 2 years (life time of the electrochemical
NO cell).
