1 Foreword
1.1 Foreword
The FeNO+ is a device with both exhaled NO analysis and spirometry functions dedicated for
prediagnosis and monitoring of inflammatory disease such as asthma.
The FeNO+ is operated by Expair, a software program developed by Medisoft S.A. that
functions on Windows based PC systems.
The FeNO+ is manufactured, calibrated and applied in conformity with latest technical
requirements and official recommendations by ATS and ERS. The FeNO+ device uses an
electrochemical sensor for nitric oxide measurement. The spirometry option adopts the Lilly-
type pneumotachograph technology for flow/volume measurement. With the spirometry
option, a full weather station (temperature, humidity and barometric sensor) for the correct
determination of the BTPS correction factor is included.
On the following pages, you will find the instructions needed to operate your instrument
effectively for practical uses. Please read this manual carefully before using the device for
the first time.
