  There are several reasons why the engine might not start. It could be due to an empty fuel tank. In this case, fill the fuel tank, check that there is fuel in the carburettor, and clear the hole in fuel tank cap with a needle. Another cause might be a blocked air filter, which requires cleaning. A dirty or faulty spark plug can also prevent starting, so clean or replace it. Finally, if the engine is flooded, take out and clean the spark plug, pull the starter cord a few times, and replace the spark plug.

Water or contaminants in the fuel system can also cause this issue, so empty the fuel tank and fill with new fuel. Finally, clean the air filter, as a blocked filter can also cause the engine to run poorly.
