BEFORE USE
• Always wear heavy-duty shoes and long
trousers when using the product. Do not
use the product barefoot or wearing open
shoes.
• Carefully inspect the area where the
product is to be used and remove any
objects that can be thrown up.
• Always use clean, fresh unleaded petrol.
• Be careful when handling fuel – it is highly
ammable. Store out of the reach of children.
• Only refuel in a well-ventilated area with
the engine switched o. Keep petrol away
from sparks and naked ames, and do not
smoke where petrol is stored or when
lling petrol. Avoid repeated or prolonged
skin contact with fuel and/or inhalation of
fuel fumes.
• Petrol is highly ammable and can in
some circumstances be explosive.
• Only store fuel in an approved container.
• Fill up with fuel outdoors. Smoking
prohibited!
• Fill up with fuel before starting the
engine. Never remove the fuel cap or add
fuel while the engine is running. Allow the
engine to cool before lling with fuel.
• Do not start the product if fuel has been
spilled. Move the product away from any
spilt fuel before starting. Be careful not to
ignite spilled petrol. Replace the fuel cap
and fuel tank cover properly.
• Repair/replace the muer if it gets damaged.
• Always check the product before use to
make sure that the rotating blades are not
worn or damaged.
HOW TO USE
• Do not use the product if any parts are
missing or damaged – risk of serious
personal injury.
• Do not run the engine in conned spaces
where noxious carbon dioxide can
accumulate.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Read these instructions carefully and
familiarise yourself with the controls on
the product and how they are used.
IMPORTANT:
The engine is supplied without oil and petrol.
Always ll up with fuel and engine oil before
using for the rst time. Do not run the engine
without enough oil – risk of serious engine
damage.
• Never allow children, or anyone who is
unfamiliar with the product and these
instructions, to use it. There may be local
regulations for the minimum age of
persons allowed to use the product.
• Do not use the product when other
persons, especially children, or pets,
are in the vicinity.
• The user is responsible for any accidents
or risks to other persons or property.
• Do not use the product if you are tired, ill,
upset, or under the inuence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
• Do not modify the product.
• Risk of hearing impairment. Wear ear
protection. The user must have ear
protection, which also others in the
vicinity can need to use.
• Noisy work should be limited to specic
periods.
• Rest at regular intervals. Failure to take
suciently long and frequent breaks can
result in vibration injuries.
• Exposure to vibrations from the prolonged
use of petrol-powered hand tools can
result in circulation injuries.
• Do not use the product in bad weather.
• Prolonged use in cold weather has been
linked to blood vessel injuries in otherwise
healthy people. If symptoms such as
numbness, pain, weakness, swelling, changes
in skin colour or loss of feeling in ngers,
hands and joints should occur, stop using the
machine and seek medical attention.
