TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION
The engine will not start. The fuel tank is empty. Fill the fuel tank, check that there is
fuel in the carburettor, and clear the
hole in fuel tank cap with a needle.
The air lter is blocked. Clean the air lter.
No spark. Clean or replace the spark plug.
Engine is ooded. Take out and clean the spark plug,
pull the starter cord a few times,
and replace the spark plug.
The engine does not run smoothly
and/or stops.
Spark plug lead is loose. Press the spark plug lead rmly on
the spark plug.
Unsuitable fuel or clogged fuel line. Replace with fresh fuel of the right
type and/or clean the fuel system.
The hole in fuel tank cap is blocked. Replace the fuel tank cap.
Water or contaminants in the fuel
system.
Empty the fuel tank and ll with
new fuel.
The air lter is blocked. Clean the air lter.
The product stops when idling. Ignition fault, defective spark plug. Adjust/replace spark plug.
Incorrectly adjusted carburettor. Adjust the carburettor setting.
The air lter is blocked. Clean, or replace the air lter.
