In the menu under Settings > Energy save
mode, you can set the time after which
the appliance should switch to energy
save mode. You can select dened values
between 3 and 240minutes.
You cannot deactivate energy save mode.
After 4hours without being operated at
the latest, the appliance switches to energy
save mode.
If the appliance is in energy save mode,
you can wake it up by pressing the "Rotary
Switch" briey.
7.3 Automatic switch-o
If the appliance is not operated for a long
time, it switches o automatically after a
specied time. You can set both a period
until switch-o and also set a time. The
appliance will switch itself o at the set
time in all cases.
In the menu under Settings > AutoOFF >
OFFafter…, you can set after what time
period the appliance should switch itself
o. You can select dened values between
9 and 480minutes.
You cannot deactivate the function OFF
after… . After 8 hours without being oper-
ated at the latest, the appliance switches
o.
In the menu under Settings > AutoOFF >
OFFat… , you can set the time at which
the appliance should be switched o.
If you want to deactivate the OFFat…
function, you need to set the time to 00:00.
The function is set to deactivated at the
factory.
7.4 Switch-o rinsing
The appliance performs rinsing when
switched on and o.
In the menu under Settings > Rinse at OFF,
you can deactivate the switch-o rinsing
function or activate it again.
We recommend that you do not perma-
nently deactivate the switch-o rinsing
function.
7.5 Factory settings
In the menu under Settings > Factory
settings, you can reset the appliance to
factory settings. In this case, all personal
settings are lost, including the settings in
the My
Coee menu.
7.6 Statistics and System menus
The Statistics menu provides information
on the number of beverages prepared.
The System menu provides information
on the software version. Furthermore, you
have access to the venting function (see
section9, page27).
7.7 Grinding neness
The grinding neness of the coee beans
inuences the avour of the coee. The
ner you set the grinding neness, the
stronger the coee.
The grinding neness has been optimally
set at the factory. Change the grinding
neness setting at the earliest after about
100coee dispensing processes (after
approx.1month, depending on coee
consumption).
You can set the grinding neness optimally
with the "Grinding neness adjustment"
lever on the rear side of the appliance.
Do not set the grinding neness too ne.
The optimum grinding neness is set when
the coee ows evenly out of the outlet
producing a ne, dense crema.
8 Care and maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance of the
appliance guarantee the consistent high
quality of your beverages.
Attention! Unsuitable cleaning agents
can damage the appliance. Only use the
recommended cleaning agents.
8.1 Cleaning surfaces
Use a soft, damp cloth and a little washing
up liquid to clean the surfaces. Remove
external soiling immediately.
