Maintenance requirements and tips

Use:
Prescriptions and advice during the operating phase:
It is necessary to empty periodically the boiler to reduce the accumulation of
limescale. Daily emptying is recommended after the time necessary for complete
cooling. Before opening the drain valve, check that the pressure gauge indicates
pressure zero(0).
Distilled, demineralized and / or deionized water cannot be used, only simple
clean tap water, no other substance can be mixed or introduced into the boiler.
It is expressly forbidden to introduce flammable substances, detonants or any
other substance if not simple clean water, General Vapeur declines all
responsibility with immediate expiry of any guarantees for non-compliance with
this indication.
We suggest to periodically check the operational indicators (light signal and
pressure gauges).
The accumulation of limescale inside the boiler is a normal condition, in order
to fully preserve the characteristics of the system, we recommend to proceed to
the cleaning every 3 to 6 months by contacting an authorized service center.
The opening of the safety valve could indicate a malfunction of the pressure
control system, if such a situation occurs it is necessary to shut down the
system and carry out a general check at an authorized service center.
For the periodic checks of the safety valve and the boiler, it is necessary to
follow the specific prescriptions of the country in which the Unit is placed in
service; in any case we recommend to replace the valve at least every 2 years and
check the boiler at an authorized service center assistance every 2 years.
Heating Elements:
To disassemble and clean the electrical heating elements:
- Disconnect the heater from the power supply and let the system cool down.
- Disassemble the protection, disconnect the power cables and the earth cable.
- Empty the system by gradually reducing the pressure.
- First loosen, and then unscrew the nuts and bolts that couple the Heating
elements flanges.
- Remove the heating element from the container, keeping it in position until the
component is completely extracted.
- Clean the heated elements with water or a jet of air,if necessary use
substances based on citric acid.
For the installation of electrical heating elements, comply with the following
requirements:
- The heater must be installed on the system only if it is intact and in perfect
efficiency. Modifications to the product are not permitted.
- The heater must be installed horizontally.
