3. Press the new ball bearing (number side up) into the carrier until the bearing seats. Use a press with a driver and mandrel
from the bearing removal and installation kit.

4. Install the carrier O‑ring. Apply 2‑4‑C with PTFE to the O‑ring surface.

Shift Shaft
1. Install the shift shaft into the gear housing. Apply a light coat of 2‑4‑C with PTFE on the shift shaft to lubricate the O‑ring in
the water pump base.
2. Install the water pump base and a new base gasket.
