21. Check the bearing preload, it should be 4-8 Nm (Fig.2.34).
If the preload (torque) of the pinion bearing is not within
4-8 Nm, remove the pinion from the carrier and follow the
appropriate procedure (see steps 16-20) and below
instructions:
• To increase preload:
decrease the bearing spacer combination.
• To decrease preload:
increase the bearing spacer combination.
22. If the torque preload is correct see Section 4 for Assembly
flange and pinion seal.
