2 Product specification
The thermal image of the winding temperature of a transfor-
mer is determined by use of the output current of a current
transformer and displayed by means of a winding tempera-
ture thermometer, such as a MT-STW160F2 in conjunction
with a ZT-F2.1 or a MT-ST160W(R)(TT) or a MESSKO® BeTech
(type WTI). The temperature transmitter type ZT-F2.1, the
pointer thermometer type MT-ST160W(R) and the pointer
thermometer MESSKO® BeTech (type WTI) are designed for
a secondary CT current of 2A at rated load.
CAUTION
Installation and electrical connection may only be carried
out by qualified, skilled personnel and only in accordance
with these operating instructions.
It is the responsibility of the user to make sure that the
device is used for the specified application only.
For safety reasons, any unauthorized and improperly
executed works, i.e. installation or electrical connection
are forbidden.

1.2 Specified application
The multi-ballast transformer is used to adapt the current
transformer output to the input of the temperature transmit-
ter ZT-F2.1 (TT), the pointer thermometer MT-ST160W(R)(TT)
or the MESSKO
®
BeTech pointer thermometer (type WTI).
It is important to read and observe the limit values for
operation indicated on the nameplate and in the operating
instructions prior to commissioning the device.
1.3 Important notes on equipment operation
The user is obliged to comply with the national health &
safety regulations.
It is especially emphasized that works performed to live, i.e.
dangerous-contact components, are permissible only while
these components are either de-energized or protected
against direct contact.
Electrical installation is subject to the relevant national safety
regulations.
