7 Card Reader
The main functions of card readers can be described as follows:
Beverage dispensing after customer identification
Booking of the dispensed beverage to the card resp. booking to a system connected to the card reader according to the customer ID stored on the card.
Different types of card readers:
Insert reader
Hold-up reader
Contactless reader
In order to grant a safe function of the card reader with a WMF coffee machine, it is absolutely required only to use card readers that have been tested and approved
by WMF.
If a customer would like to use a card reader, it has to be checked first - according to the manufacturer and model - whether the card reader has already been tested.
In case that a so far unknown card reader is supposed to be used, the following equipment will be required for testing:
Card reader
Payment card with credit
Payment card w/o credit
Connection cable
With each order of a WMF coffee machine with card reader the card reader must be supplied to WMF. Then the card reader is fitted into the housing,
tested and then delivered.
The card readers are not from WMF and need to be ordered by the customer himself at a third party.
