Overview

The Microzone C7-MINI is a 2.4GHz FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) digital proportional R/C system designed for controlling various models. This system includes a remote control (transmitter) and a receiver (MC8RE-V2).

Function Description

The C7-MINI remote control features an 8-channel system with a range of controls and indicators:

  • Rocker Sticks: Two main rocker sticks are used for primary control inputs. The system supports both left-hand and right-hand throttle configurations, which can be adjusted in the settings.
  • Trim Switches: Fine-tuning switches are available for precise adjustments of channels 1, 2, 3, and 4. The lower left trim corresponds to channel 4, the right trim to channel 1. The upper left trim (left mode) corresponds to channel 3, and (right mode) to channel 2. The upper right trim (left mode) corresponds to channel 2, and (right mode) to channel 3.
  • D/R Switch: This switch allows for dual rate adjustments, affecting the sensitivity of control inputs.
  • Channels 5 & 6 Switches: Dedicated switches for channels 5 and 6, likely for auxiliary functions.
  • Coach Function/Speed Lock Switch: A multi-purpose switch that activates either a coach function (for fixed-wing/multi-axis models) or a speed lock (for car/boat models).
  • Power Light: An indicator light for the remote control's power status.
  • Coach Function/Speed Lock Indicator: Indicates the status of the coach or speed lock function (blinking for on, solid for off).
  • Menu Key / OK Key: Used for navigating and confirming selections within the system's menu.
  • Exit Button: Used to go back or exit from menu screens.
  • Up/Down Buttons: For navigating through menu options and adjusting values.
  • Lock Button: Used to lock and unlock the remote control to prevent accidental inputs.
  • Channel Monitoring: The system allows users to monitor the real-time status of channels 1-8.
  • Built-in Antenna: The remote control has an integrated antenna for 2.4GHz communication.
  • Audio Interface: An external port for connecting to computers or analog devices, potentially for simulator use or data transfer.

The MC8RE-V2 receiver is a key component of the system, providing:

  • 7 PWM Signals: Outputs for controlling up to 7 standard servos or other PWM-controlled devices.
  • 1 SBUS Signal: A single SBUS output for advanced control systems that utilize this serial communication protocol.
  • 1 External Voltage Input: An input for external power supply.
  • External Dual Antenna: Two external antennas for improved signal reception and reliability.
  • Contact Frequency Alignment: A touch button on the receiver for initiating the frequency pairing process with the remote control.

Usage Features

  • First Use and Testing: Upon first use, it is recommended to compare the frequency between the transmitter and receiver. After successful pairing, a short-distance test (10-15 meters) should be conducted to ensure the model responds correctly to the transmitter's rocker movements.
  • Frequency Pairing: To pair, ensure the remote control is off and the receiver is powered on. Press the frequency control button on the receiver; its indicator light will flash quickly. Then, turn on the remote control. The receiver's indicator light will turn on solid, indicating a successful signal reception.
  • Power Supply: The remote control can be powered by four No. 5 batteries (DC4-8.4V) or a 2S lithium battery inserted into the battery compartment. An external DC 6V power supply can also be used via the DC power socket on the right side of the remote control for indoor testing. When using an external power supply, internal batteries should be removed. Note that the DC port is not for charging.
  • Low Voltage Alarm: The remote control features a low voltage alarm. A ticking sound and a blinking power indicator will alert the user when the voltage of 4x5 batteries drops below 4V or 2S Li-ion batteries drop below 7V, signaling the need for battery replacement or charging.
  • Safe Shutdown Procedure: To ensure safety, always turn off the model's power supply first after the motor stops running, and then turn off the transmitter's power. Turning off the transmitter first may lead to loss of control or the engine continuing to run.
  • Menu Navigation: The system uses MENU, EXIT, UP, and DOWN keys for navigation and selection within the settings.
  • Rocker Settings: Users can configure the throttle control to either the left or right rocker stick.
  • Language Setting: The display language can be switched between Chinese and English.
  • Failure to Control Protection (Runaway Protection): This function activates when the receiver loses signal from the transmitter (e.g., transmitter turned off, out of range). It returns the model to a preset runaway protection value to prevent harm. Values can be adjusted via the menu.
  • Trip Setting: This feature allows users to limit the range of motion for servos, ensuring they operate within desired limits.
  • Restore Out: All settings can be reset to their original factory defaults.
  • Model Setting: The system supports different model types: Fixed Wing, Multi-axis, Boat, and Car. Users select the appropriate model type to access specific mixing and control options.
  • Mixed Control Setting: Allows binding two or more receiver channels to one transmitter channel for complex linkages. Specific mixing options vary by model type (Fixed Wing/Car/Boat mixed control, Multi-axis mixed control).
    • Fixed Wing/Car/Boat Mixed Control: Includes CH1/CH2 mixed control (channel 1 and 2) and CH2/CH4 mixed control (channel 2 and 4).
    • Multi-axis Hybrid Control: Combined with the D/R switch, this allows the aircraft to switch between three and six attitudes.
  • Channel Reversal: The direction of operation for channels 1-8 can be reversed to match servo movement with control input.
  • Car/Boat Mode Speed Lock: When activated, this function ensures cars or boats with differential construction maintain a constant speed. The indicator blinks when on and lights solid when off.
  • Fixed Wing/Multi-axis Mode Coaching Function: A training aid for beginners that detects and corrects errors, provides skill suggestions, and simulates flight scenarios. The indicator light blinks when the function is on and lights solid when off.

Maintenance Features

  • Battery Management: Regular monitoring of battery voltage is crucial due to the low voltage alarm. Prompt replacement or charging of batteries is necessary to prevent loss of control.
  • Environmental Considerations: Avoid using the remote control in harsh weather (evenings, thunderstorms, snow) or watery places to prevent damage to internal circuitry.
  • Signal Interference Awareness: Be aware of potential signal interference sources (mobile phone towers, high-voltage lines, radar, complex wireless environments) that can cause loss of control.
  • Physical Handling: The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children. Operators should be alert and sober when using the device to prevent serious injury.
  • Line of Sight: Always operate the model within the line of sight, as obstacles can block the signal and lead to loss of control.
  • Correct Installation: Ensure the remote control and model are correctly installed, and all steering gear actions and controls are in the same direction to prevent damage to the model or engine.
  • Control Distance: Maintain an appropriate control distance to avoid losing control.
  • System Compatibility: The Microzone 2.4G wireless transmission system (remote control and receiver) is designed to be used in pairs. Other company products may not be compatible.
