Recommended Items to Include in an Emergency Supply Kit:
D Water, one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking
and sanitation
D Food, at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
D Battery-powered or hand crank radio and a NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert and
extra batteries
D Flashlight with signal-strobe
D First aid kit
D Whistle to signal for help
D Cell phone with portable battery charger
D Family Radio Service (FRS) or General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) radios for backup
communication to call for help
D Local maps to avoid getting lost
