Audio-Visual Entrainment (AVE) is an effective tool for dissociating a
depressed/anxious person out of his/her destructive thoughts, leaving them
with emotional neutrality and somatic re-stabilization (Siever, 2000). Even
with increasing anxiety, AVE has been shown to reduce heart rate and may
be used as a desensitization tool (Leonard & Telch, 2000). AVE also
increases norepinephrine and serotonin (Shealy, 1989).
