Analyze
Function
The
Flash
Meter
IV
features
a special
"analyze"
function
which indicates
the
contribution
to
exposure
made
by
flash
light
sources
and ambient
light
sources
such as
daylight
or tungsten
light.
The meter
takes
f lash
and ambient
light
measu
rements
at the same
time, then stores the
measu
rements
separately.
The
total
exposure is
shown on
the digital
display,
while
pointers
on
the contrast
scale indicate
the
total
exposure,
f lash
contribution,
and
ambient-light
con
tr ibut ion
.
By changing
the shutter
speed,
f-number,
o(
flash
power,
you
make
either
light
source
dominant.
For
example,
if
the
scene is lit
by
flash
and
tungsten
light
and
you
are
using
daylight-balanced
color
film,
the
scene wif l
appear
redd
ish
when
the
tu
ngsten
light
is
dominant
and
normal
when
the
f
lash
is
dominant.
As
you
change
the
exposure
settings,
the
pointers
on
the contrast
sca
le
will ind icate
wh ich light
sou
rce
is
dominant. For
example,
setting
a slower
shutter
speed
will increase
the
amount
ambient-light
expo-
sure.
Or if
you
increase
the
f
lash
power,
the f lash
ex-
posure
will
be
more
dominant.

Adjusting
the

The
amount
of
ambient light
can
be
controlled
by
changing
the
shutter
speed
or
the

The
amount
of
flash
light
can
be controlled
by
changing
the
flash
power,
the
distance
between
the
flash
and
subject,
or
the
f-number.
After
changing
any
