HINTS FOR OPTIMUM USE
Start by trimming the top of the hedge. Slightly
tilt the tool (up to degrees relative to the line of
cut) so that the blade tips point slightly towards
the hedge. This will cause the blades to cut more
eectively. Hold the tool at the desired angle and
move it steadily along the line of cut. The double-
sided blade allows you to cut in either direction.
In order to obtain a very straight cut, stretch a
piece of string along the length of the hedge at
the desired height. Use the string as a guideline,
cuing just above it.
In order to obtain flat sides, cut upwards with the
growth. Younger stems move outwards when the
blade cuts downwards, causing shallow patches
in the hedge.
Take care to avoid any foreign objects. Especially
avoid hard objects such as metal wire and
railings, as these could damage the blades.
Regularly oil the blades.
FOR CHAIN SAW:
FILLING IN CHAIN OIL(FIG.14)
WARNING: Physical injury due to chain breakage
when the chain on the bar is not suiciently
lubricated. Check whether suicient quantities of
chain oil are delivered prior to each use.
We recommend to use SAE#10W-30 oil or an
equivalent mineral chain oil from a specialist
supplier.
1. Unscrew the oil cap.
2. Fill chain oil into oil tank.
3. Close the oil cap again.
The device must be cleaned thoroughly if oil has
been spilled.

CHECKING THE OIL LUBRICATION
SYSTEM
Point the bar at a bright wood cuing surface at
a distance of approx.200mm.After operating the
machine for one minute, clear traces of oil must
be visible on the surface.
WARNING: Never let the bar come into contact
with sand or soil as this will lead to increased
wear of the chain.
