Why does my Mitsubishi Electric HC5000 have no image on the screen?

If no image appears on the screen of your Mitsubishi Electric Projector, make sure the lens cap is removed. Allow about one minute for the lamp to light up. If the lamp doesn't light, wait a few minutes and try again. If the projector was turned off before the lamp cooled, the fan may start, and the POWER button may not work. Wait for the fan to stop, then press the POWER button. Ensure the intake vent is clean and that the lamp cover is closed. Also, verify the cables connected to external devices are not broken. If using an extension cable, replace it with the supplied cable to check; if images display correctly, add an RGB signal amplifier. Finally, check the operation manual of the video device for connection instructions and set SCART INPUT in the FEATURE menu to OFF.

Jonathan RubioSep 1, 2025
Fine streaks on projected images from your Mitsubishi Electric Projector are due to interference with the screen surface and are not a malfunction. Try replacing the screen or slightly displacing the focus. Additionally, vertical or horizontal streak noise may appear depending on the DVD player or game console used; enable the LPF to reduce this noise.

If the projected images from your Mitsubishi Electric Projector are shaking or displaced, check that the cable connected to the external device isn’t intermittent and connect the cable’s plug with the external device’s connector firmly. You can also press the AUTO POSITION button. If you still experience the issue, it may be due to out-of-spec signals from some computers; in this case, adjust the SIGNAL menu.

If your Mitsubishi Electric Projector displays 'NO SIGNAL', turn on the connected device and ensure it's working correctly. Check that the external device outputs signals, especially if it's a notebook computer. Verify the cable connecting the external device isn't defective and that the projector is connected using the correct terminals. Ensure the connected device is correctly selected as the input source. If using an extension cord, replace it with the supplied cable to check if images are projected correctly; if so, use an RGB signal amplifier with the extension cord.

What to do if my Mitsubishi Electric HC5000 power turns off by itself?
J
Johnny KelleyAug 25, 2025
If your Mitsubishi Electric Projector turns off, this may occur when the intake vent and/or exhaust vents are blocked. Remove any obstructions, wait for the intake/exhaust fan to stop (until the STATUS indicator goes out), unplug the power cord, wait 10 minutes, plug it back in, and press the POWER button. If the STATUS indicator is steady red, replace the lamp. Also, verify that AUTO POWER OFF is set to OFF. Note that if the lamp has deteriorated, it may go out after illuminating for a while.
