Fuel Filter - Bleed Air
Bleed air from the fuel filter.
For the location of the fuel filter, refer
to
"2 ENGINE - OUTLINE" ( Page 73).
1 Loosen the air vent plug of the fuel
filter by turning it counterclockwise.
Tool: Ring spanner

2 Operate the priming pump up and
down to feed fuel "Priming Pump -
Operate" ( Page 142).
3 Wipe off fuel seeped out from the air
vent plug with a waste cloth.
4 Tighten the air vent plug of the fuel
filter by turning it clockwise.
Tool: Torque wrench
Tightening torque:
7.8 to 9.8 N·m {0.80 to 1.00 kgf·m} [5.75 to
7.23 lbf·ft]

Fuel Injection Pump - Bleed Air
Bleed air from the fuel injection pump.
For the location of the fuel injection
pump, refer to
"2 ENGINE - OUTLINE"
( Page 73).
1 Loosen the air vent plug of the fuel
filter by turning it counterclockwise.
Tool: Ring spanner

2 Connect a clear plastic tube onto the
bleeder screw of the fuel injection
pump, and place a container to
receive fuel.

Prepare a plastic tube (6 mm [0.24 in.]
in diameter, approx. 2 m [78.74 in.]
long).
